Alaska at a glance
- Report lookback: 7 years (FCRA default). Alaska defers to FCRA for non-conviction reporting; conviction history may be reported without a cap.
- Ban-the-box: None statewide. No statewide ban-the-box statute. Anchorage municipal hiring removed the question for executive-branch positions in 2017.
- Salary history: No restriction. No statewide salary-history ban.
- Cannabis: Recreational legal; testing allowed. Recreational cannabis is legal under Ballot Measure 2 (2014) but the statute expressly preserves the employer's right to maintain a drug-free workplace.
